David Nolan, Concertmaster

David Nolan has taught at the Royal Academy of Music, Tokyo Geidai and has been a guest professor at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music since 2009. Originally from Liverpool in England, Nolan started playing violin at a young age and went on to study at Royal Manchester College of Music. He has served as concertmaster of the London Philharmonic Orchestra from 1976 to 1992, and at the Royal Opera House Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra of London. In 1999 he became Solo Concertmaster of Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. He has appeared as guest concertmaster with London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Academy of St Martin in Fields, London Sinfonietta and the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
